HYCM traces its roots back to 1977, with a long track record in forex and CFD trading. This HYCM review looks at what the broker offers today, how safe it is, and who gets the most value from its platform.
Our Opinion about HYCM
After trading and analysing user HYCM reviews, I found it suits traders who want flexibility rather than frills. With over 300 tradable instruments across forex, indices, commodities, shares, and cryptocurrency CFDs, there was plenty of room to trade my way. It also features a HYCM Invest platform listing 1,000+ global stocks to explore.
Choosing between Fixed, Classic, and Raw accounts allowed me to pick spreads or commissions to suit my style. The HYCM Trader, MT4, and MT5 covered desktop and mobile well, and Trading Central’s research tools felt like a genuine bonus.
The drawback I noticed is that HYCM no longer accepts EU clients. This is after giving up its Cyprus licence in 2024.
Is HYCM Safe & Regulated?
The Henyep Capital Markets (UK) Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under firm reference number 186171. FCA regulations in place mean clients’ deposits sit in segregated accounts away from the company’s own money. And, if HYCM were ever unable to return client assets, the FSCS would step in to cover eligible UK clients up to £85,000 each.
Beyond the FCA, HYCM also holds licences with other global authorities, including:
- The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) in Dubai
- The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) in the Cayman Islands
Note that HYCM surrendered its Cyprus CySEC licence in June 2024 and no longer accepts EU clients. UK residents are unaffected, since they trade with the FCA-regulated entity. I also like that the broker is highly encrypted, guaranteeing the safety of users’ personal data.
Fees & Commissions
HYCM’s minimum volume per trade is 0.01 regardless of the account you choose. However, trading charges vary with account types. For instance, the Fixed and Classic accounts are spread-only, while the Raw account charges spreads as well as commissions.
Here is a summary of the broker’s trading and non-trading charges.
| Broker Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Min Deposit Requirement | £20 |
| Commissions/Spreads | From 0.1 pips on the Raw account, plus a commission of up to £5 per round. Fixed account spreads start from 1.5 pips and 1.2 pips for the Classic account. |
| Deposits/Withdrawals | Free |
| Inactivity Fee | £10 monthly after 90 days |

Who is HYCM Right for?
Based on this HYCM broker review, it works well for traders who want a choice between fixed costs and raw pricing. New traders can start on the Fixed or Classic account, where costs are simple and built into the spread. I would still encourage spending time on the demo account first, since choosing between MT4, MT5, and HYCM Trader takes some getting used to.
Active traders benefit most from the Raw account, where low spreads and a modest commission work out cheaper at higher volumes. If your priority is trading within the EU, HYCM is no longer the right fit, since it stopped serving EU clients in 2024. For UK residents wanting a well-regulated, MetaTrader-focused broker, HYCM remains a solid choice.
